Ontario To Ban Public E-Cigarette Advertising; October 25, 2019

With concerns over youth vaping mounting Ontario codified a ban on e-cigarette advertising in gas stations and convenience stores to take effect next year. Regulators say this is only the first step in combating adolescent exposure, but state that a full ban is not currently planned. The health ministry comments that many adults are using vaping as a smoking cessation tool and that a full ban could cause them to regress to tobacco products.

FDA Cautions E-Cigarette Users; October 4, 2019

Among a rash of cases involving reduced respiration and chest pains among vape users, the US Food and Drug Administration is concerned about the potential risks of E-cigarettes. Said cases were more common in, though not exclusive to, individuals who utilize THC additives while vaping. In light of these findings the FDA heavily discourages the use of 'black market' E-cigarette THC liquids and recommends cessation of vaping until more long-term health studies are conducted.
