Potential Side Effects of Acute E-Cigarette Exposure

- mouth and throat irritation
- dry cough and wheezing
- shortness of breath
- chest pain
- increase in respiratory impedance
- no change in heart rate, carbon monoxide (CO) level or plasma nicotine level
- decrease in fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO)
- upset stomach, nausea and vomiting
- diarrhea
- fatigue
- fever
- abdominal pain
- dry skin and eyes
- nosebleeds/ bleeding
Like any other substance, this is not a complete list of its side effects. In contrast, some users never experience any of these issues.
